San Diego Convention Center – Dining

If the catered fare at the event you’re attending doesn’t suit your tastes however, don’t worry! Being that San Diego is one of the culinary gems of Southern California, there are many great restaurants within walking distance of the San Diego Convention Center.

Seaport Village, a 14-acre shopping, dining, and entertainment complex that’s less than a 15-minute walk from the San Diego Convention Center, is home to a variety of vibrant eateries. Whether you’re looking get away from the hustle and bustle of the convention center with a quick, casual meal or want to indulge in a fine dining experience, Seaport Village has got you covered. Nearby hotels, such as the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina and Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego, also offer plenty of crave-worthy dining options.

 

Starbucks

Want something other than catered food but don’t have enough downtime to venture out from the San Diego Convention Center? Lucky for you, the convention center is home to not one, but three Starbucks. They are located in Halls A, C, E, so no matter where you are in the San Diego Convention Center, you’re never far from a caffeinated pick-me-up or satisfying snack. Just be prepared to wait in long lines if you’re at the San Diego Convention Center while a major event, such as Comic-Con, is taking place.

Also, it’s worth noting that the food selection at these Starbucks is limited compared to what you would find at one of their regular locations. While they don’t serve any hot foods, there are still plenty of delicious muffins, bagels, croissants, and more to choose from.

 

Seaport Village

With 13 causal eateries and four upscale restaurants, Seaport Village is sure to have something that suits your tastes. It also features more than 50 one-of-a-kind shops along with gorgeous views of San Diego Bay, so you’ll probably want to allot yourself some time to explore Seaport Village before or after your meal.

No matter what you’re in the mood for, chances are one of the casual eateries at Seaport Village is serving it up right. Margarita’s Kitchen & Cantina and Marion’s Fish Market both specialize in a true San Diego staple: fish tacos. The San Diego Burger Company is a great choice if you’re in the mood for; you guessed it; burgers, while the Seaport Grill and Seaport Village Deli serve everything from Philly cheesesteaks and hot dogs to salads and bagels. If you’ve got a bit of a sweet tooth, consider stopping by Ben & Jerry’s, Frost Me Gourmet Cupcakes, or Seaport Coffee and Fudge too before making your way back to the San Diego Convention Center.

After a long day at the San Diego Convention Center, you’ll probably want to treat yourself to a nice meal with your colleagues or some new acquaintances you’ve just met. If that’s the case, take everyone out to one of Seaport Village’s four fine dining restaurants. Whichever one you choose, you’ll enjoy breathtaking waterfront views paired with fresh, delicious food. Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina and Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego

Even more great places to eat can be found in the world-class hotels that flank the San Diego Convention Center. One of the hotels closest to the facility at only a five-minute walk, the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, is home to three eclectic eateries along with an on-site Starbucks.

At the award-winning Marina Kitchen Restaurant & Bar you can rediscover American classics in an atmosphere best described as chic, yet casual. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the Marina Kitchen Restaurant & Bar serves everything from Eggs Benedict topped with house-made pastrami and brioche French toast to mushroom risotto, herb-crusted lamb chops, and grilled Arctic char. If you’re in the mood for more worldly flavors, get a taste of Baja Mexican cuisine at the Tequila Bar & Grille or sample some inventive Asian fusion at Roy’s.

Although it’s a bit father from the San Diego Convention Center than the Marriott, the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego is well worth the walk. That’s because this ritzy hotel property offers a total of five on-site dining options.

For breakfast you can indulge in Seaview’s bountiful buffet or grab a pastry and coffee to go at MARKET | ONE. Enjoy unforgettable views of San Diego Bay as you savor the bright, fresh flavor of locally sourced seafood at Sally’s Fish House & Bar. For diners who prefer turf over surf, Brew30 is a gastropub with a whopping 30 rotating taps that serves wings, burgers, hot dogs, and more. If you happen to be visiting San Diego between Memorial Day and Labor Day, dine poolside at the Hyatt’s seasonal Pool Bar & Grill.
