If you’re planning to visit Universal Orlando this summer, buckle up. This week marks the opening of the park’s newest ride, Fast & Furious – Supercharged. The ride is inspired by the wildly popular Fast & Furious film franchise, which has altogether grossed more than five billion dollars, making it Universal Pictures’ biggest franchise to date.

Fast & Furious – Supercharged features an original storyline based on the series, including nods to iconic scenes and characters played by a star-studded cast of Hollywood A-listers like Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, and Ludacris.

Riders will team up with the Fast & Furious crew for an exhilarating, high-octane race through the streets of Los Angeles. This isn’t your average street race however. In true Fast fashion, riders will have to dodge gunfire, evade crashes, outrun drones, and more before reaching the finish line, all while hit songs from the films’ soundtracks keep their hearts racing at a mile a minute.

The line for the attraction winds through a replica of the warehouse headquarters from the series, immersing fans in the grit and neon glow of the Fast & Furious universe prior to boarding the ride. Those looking to skip the line and get right to the action can do so via the park’s new Virtual Line system, which allows visitors to reserve a ride time via the Universal Orlando app or at kiosks located near the entrance to the attraction.

Although the Virtual Line system is a great way to spend less time waiting in line and more time having fun in the park, true Fast & Furious super fans definitely won’t want to miss out on the chance to see souped-up cars and other cool props from the series.

While Fast & Furious – Supercharged is open to the public as of Monday, April 23, an official opening ceremony will take place on May 2 featuring some of the films’ biggest stars. Even if you won’t be able to attend the event in person, you can still get in on the action when it’s streamed live on the Universal Orlando blog.
