Biloxi – Things To Do With Your Team

Biloxi, Mississippi is one of the oldest communities in the country, dating back to 1699 when the settlers first landed on its shores and called the area home. The city lies directly on the Mississippi Sound, and is known for its sugar-white sand beaches and great fishing. Today, it’s a cultural melting pot, with year round festivals and activities, golf courses, and tantalizing seafood restaurants. If this destination is on the team’s travel itinerary, consider yourselves lucky.

Biloxi Lighthouse

Biloxi - Things to do with your Team - Travel - Hotels4TeamsThe Biloxi Lighthouse was built in 1848 and remained civilian operated from 1848-1939. It was one of the first cast-iron lighthouses in the South and is notable for its female light keepers, like Maria Younghans who operated it for 53 years. After Hurricane Katrina, the lighthouse underwent a 14- month restoration and re-opened its doors to tours in 2010. Today, the 64-foot tall structure stands as a symbol of resilience to the city after surviving the wrath of the super storm. This is a perfect place to take someone who lives in a land-locked state and wants to get a bird’s eye view of the coast. Get you’re walking shoes on and see if you can make it to the tippy top! Hwy 90 and Porter Ave, Biloxi, MS 39530

Biloxi Beach

After checking out the sights at the Biloxi Lighthouse, take the team to catch a sunset on the white sands of Biloxi Beach. This 26-mile stretch of beach along the Mississippi Sound is surrounded by barrier islands in the Gulf of Mexico, which keep the waters calm and perfect for swimming. Due to its Southern location and proximity to the Gulf of Mexico, the air and water temperatures remain relatively warm year round. If the water is a tad cold, tell the team to pack a wetsuit and towel and they will be ready for a beach day! 2200 Beach Blvd, Biloxi, MS 39531-5002

MGM Park

When the team is done racking up points in their own game, take them to MGM Park, home of the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, the Biloxi Shuckers. The team had their first season at MGM Park in 2015 (after being sold in 2014) and the ballpark has 5,000 seats for fans, concessions, a lounge, and a team store. Check out this recently built venue and enjoy watching one of America’s oldest and favorite pastimes. 105 Caillavet St, Biloxi, MS 39530

Big Play Entertainment Center

If it’s games the team wants, satisfy their desires and take them for some friendly competition at Big Play Entertainment Center. Open year round, this entertainment center offers 12 lane bowling, two 18-hole mini-golf courses, bumper cars, and go carts (must  be 56 inches tall to drive your own). If they get bored with those activities, check out the arcade that offers more than a dozen state of the art games and prizes. After the arcade, put their flexibility to the test at the laser maze. The dark maze is lit by brightly colored lasers that go from one wall to the other, and the goal is to make it to the other side of the maze without letting any body part touch the lasers.  See for yourself if you have what it takes to make it across. 1842 Beach Blvd, Biloxi, MS 39531

Done in four separate pieces, the mural was designed by local artists to depict the natural beauty of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and pay tribute to the bridge that was once badly damaged by Hurricane Katrina. At the corner of learning and fun is the Infinity Science Center, which features cool attractions like a virtual reality simulator.  In addition to their state-of-the-art simulator, the Infinity Science Center displays a portion of the rocket that would’ve been used for the cancelled Apollo 19 mission.
