NASCAR Hall of Fame

Racing fans flock to Charlotte to see the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Featuring a behind-the-scenes look at the racing industry that includes 40,000 square feet of interactive exhibits like the Pit Crew Challenge, engine puzzles, and 48 other hands-on activities, the facility is simply astounding. The Hall of Fame houses the High Octane Theater, where you can see highlights of NASCAR through the years on a 64-foot wide screen with surround sound, while Glory Road simulates various racetracks and showcases 18 historic cars and 40 old and new tracks. The Hall of Honor enshrines the celebrated Hall of Fame inductees, and the Race Week exhibit offers a look at how NASCAR teams prepare for race day. Discovery Place Nature

Exit Strategy

Sky Zone Charlotte

You can take a tour of the hospital or enjoy the exhibit “A Day in the Life of a Raptor Hospital” to get an idea of what it takes to heal injured raptors and release them back into the wild. U.S. National Whitewater Center

The largest man-made whitewater river in the world is located at the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, and you can experience a range of exciting adventures here, including rafting, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding. This whitewater wonderland also offers climbing, ropes courses, and a zip line. Located on 1,300 acres of land on the Catawba River, the Center features 30 miles of trails for mountain biking, walking, or running, and the River’s Edge Bar & Grill and other on-site dining establishments ensure you won’t have to wait long to satiate the huge appetite you’re sure to work up.
