Gulfport – Things to do with your Team

Situated along the Gulf of Mexico, Gulfport is a wonderful city to spend some time in.  You’ll feel like you’re in the tropics at times because of its temperate weather and palm trees.

Gulfport owes its growth as a city to Joseph T. Jones for opening a shipping channel and putting Gulfport on the map in terms of trade.  Gulfport began transporting goods in 1902, and today the port accounts for millions of dollars of revenue.  You and your team will be able to experience many of the exciting activities Gulfport has to offer while you’re there.

The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies

Traveling with any animal lovers?  The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies, or IMMS for short, is a conservation center focused on the rehabilitation of marine animals that is open to the public.  IMMS takes in all sick and injured marine mammals and sea turtles in hopes to return them to the wild once they are fully healed.

Education is the name of the game at IMMS.  Their knowledgeable staff members are there to teach about the animals they take care of and recount some interesting stories they’ve had with the animals.  Witness dolphins and sea lions follow commands and have fun with their trainers in live shows. Hold and pet aquatic creatures in the touch pool.  IMMS asks that you call for a reservation before your visit otherwise they will not be able to accommodate your team. 10801 Dolphin Ln, Gulfport, MS 39503

MGM Park

Take your team out for some peanuts and Cracker Jack and an enjoyable night out at MGM Park.  Home of the minor league team the Biloxi Shuckers, a Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, MGM Park is celebrated for being one of the most fun activities in the Gulfport area.  The Shuckers consistently put on a display of high caliber baseball.  It’s a spectacle really.

Visit one of the field’s many concession stands, purchase a hot dog, nachos, or whatever else you desire, and watch an epic game.  If you are bringing 20 or more people to see the game, MGM Park will work with you to get discounted tickets and make sure that the whole group can sit together.  105 Caillavet Street, Biloxi, MS 39530

Banana’s Mini-Golf & Arcade

Mini golf and video games are two things kids will always love.  Why not treat them to both with a trip to Banana’s Mini-Golf & Arcade?

Banana’s tropical mini golf course might seem easy at first glance, but you’d be wrong for thinking so.  Sure, there are a few easier holes, but the majority of its 18 holes will challenge you every time you hit your ball.  Filled with water obstacles, bunkers, and other obstructions, Banana’s course will give you a run for your money.

After your team has their fill of mini golf, they can head to the arcade and spend some time there.  Banana’s provides top quality arcade games of the past and present.  Everyone will be able to find a game that suits them so they can have some fun.  Don’t forget to get one of their delicious frozen yogurts before you leave! 2251 E Pass Rd, Gulfport, Mississippi, MS 39507

Altitude Trampoline Park

Your team will flip out for a chance to go to Altitude Trampoline Park.  This is a great place to allow them to run a little wild and let them use up any extra energy they might have.

Altitude’s open trampoline section is perfect for jumping or flipping however you want.  Launch off floors and walls of trampolines and find out how high you can bounce. Dodgeball is also played in this section, which will certainly liven things up even more.

If you’d rather land on something with a little more cushion than a trampoline, try Altitude’s foam pit on for size.  Dive or cannonball into their four foot pit as many times as you want.  Getting out can prove to be a little tough though.

Looking for a more aggressive way to enjoy the trampoline park?  Strap on a helmet, grab a padded rod, and battle a teammate for control of the balance beam.  First one to fall into the foam pit loses.  9444 Highway 49 Gulfport, MS 39503

Because Cinemark 16 plays at least 15 different movies every day, deciding what movie your team wants to see beforehand is a smart idea to speed the process up.  All of the available movies have show times running throughout the day, so you don’t have to worry too much about adhering to a strict time frame when planning a trip there.

They also recently installed reclining theater seats!  Be careful though, you don’t want to get so comfortable that you end up falling asleep during the movie. 15171 Crossroads Pkwy, Gulfport, MS 39503

Gulf Islands Waterpark

Open during the summer months, Gulf Islands Waterpark is the most fun respite from the heat you’ll be able to find in Gulfport.  Race down all five of the park’s water slides, getting soaked in the process of course, or get tossed around the wave pool.

In Pelican’s Bay, you have 10 unique water related activities to have fun with.  Shoot water guns or cannons at your teammates, get drenched by huge buckets filled with water, and much more.  Once you run yourself ragged, you can enjoy a leisurely float down Gulf Island’s lazy river.  Groups of 20 or more can receive a group discount.  17200 16th St, Gulfport, MS 39503
