Louisville Waterfront Park

Louisville Waterfront Park covers about 55 acres and is a popular destination in the city. Here, you can enjoy up-close views of the river, and if you’re up for it, you can rent a bike at Wheel Fun Rentals and explore the park on two wheels.

Louisville at See Level will take you on a two-hour riverboat cruise that gives you a whole new perspective of Louisville and the Ohio River.

Walk across the famous Big Four Bridge, which spans the Ohio River and connects Kentucky to Indiana. This former railroad truss bridge is just for pedestrian and bicycle use, and it offers great views of the river and banks.

Just ten minutes north of Louisville, you’ll find Atlantis Water Park, the perfect place to cool off and burn some energy. The park features a huge wave pool with rolling waves, and Mount Olympus is a 43-foot high maze of twisting, turning water slides, including two body slides and two tube slides. Louisville Mega Cavern

Travel 100 feet underground to the world’s only fully subterranean ropes course and zip-line experience. The gigantic Louisville Mega Cavern is man-made, and it’s part of 17 miles of underground corridors right underneath Louisville.

Take a two-and-a-half-hour Mega Zip zip-line trip into deep, hidden sections of the cave, or go on a Mega Quest to master a challenging aerial ropes course. Kart Kountry

Kart Kountry, located 25 minutes south of Louisville in Shepherdsville, has the world’s longest go-kart track, twisting and turning for over a mile and a half.

Enjoy a challenging game of mini-golf on one of two 18-hole courses decked out with waterfalls, streams, sand traps, and a giant volcano. The arcade offers a great mix of old and new games and you can win points redeemable for prizes at one of the best prize counters in the region. Marengo Cave

Head 36 miles west of Louisville to Marengo and go underground for an incredible adventure at Marengo Cave, where you can explore this natural wonder and its wild geologic formations, including soda straws and stalagmites.

Take the 40-minute Crystal Palace tour to see some of the cavernous, formation-filled rooms, or opt for the hour-long Dripstone Trail tour, which takes you a full mile through the caverns to see the amazing sights.

Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay

Ride a 150-foot-high Ferris wheel to whet your appetite and see Louisville from a new perspective, and then hit the big boys at Kentucky Kingdom, home to some of Kentucky’s wildest thrill rides.

Lightning Run is a ten-story steel roller coaster featuring a heart-stopping, 80-degree drop, and T3, or Terror to the Third Power, is a suspended looping coaster with five breathtaking inversions. Swing 130 feet above the park on the Skycatcher, and brace yourself for the dives, twists, corkscrews, and barrel rolls on the 10-story Storm Chaser.

When you’re ready to cool off, head over to Hurricane Bay for some more thrills. Body surf on six-foot waves at Big Surf, and ride mega slides with names like Voodoo Express, Waikiki Wipeout, and Plummet Summit.
