Missoula – Things to do with your Team

Everyone knows Montana as “Big Sky Country,” but not everyone knows where to experience the best that the Big Sky Country has to offer. That place would be Missoula, a scenic city located along the banks of the Clark Fork River. Missoula brings together the natural beauty one would expect to find in Montana, along with a healthy dose of contemporary culture and fun family-friendly things to do. Missoula is often considered to be the cultural center of Montana, primarily due to it being the home of the state’s first university, the University of Montana. So, in addition to big blue skies and unforgettable scenery, Missoula will also offer you and your team a variety of entertainment options that you won’t find anywhere else in Montana.

Caras Park

Located in the heart of downtown Missoula on the Clark Fork River, Caras Park is a great place to get acquainted with just a few of the great attractions and activities the city of Missoula has to offer you and your team during your stay. While there, you and your team can admire the scenic beauty of the Clark Fork River under the big Montana sky on the seven-mile Ron MacDonald Riverfront Trail System; watch as kayakers, surfers, and paddle boarders brave Brennan’s Wave, a man-made wave on the Clark Fork River; or just sit back and enjoy whatever exciting event happens to be taking place that night under the Caras Park Pavilion. 101 S Higgins Ave, Missoula, MT 59802

A Carousel for Missoula

A Carousel for Missoula isn’t your run-of-the-mill theme park attraction. In fact, it’s far from it. Opened in 1995 in Caras Park, this iconic carousel is the culmination of a labor of love for the hundreds of volunteers who contributed over 100,000 hours of time into its construction. Now during your visit to Missoula, you and your team can enjoy some old-fashioned fun on this testament to what can be accomplished when a community comes together. The carousel features 38 ponies, two chariots, 14 gargoyles, and the largest band organ in continuous use in the United States with 400 square wooden pipes that are capable of making the music of 23 instruments and 45 musicians. It sits in a circular enclosure surrounded by roll up doors, meaning that it can be enjoyed no matter the weather.

In good weather, the doors are opened so that riders can appreciate the beauty of the surrounding park. In inclement weather the doors are shut and the enclosure is heated. The carousel is open daily, year-round. To commemorate your group’s visit to A Carousel for Missoula, stop by the neighboring gift shop, which sells A Carousel for Missoula-themed wearables and souvenirs, local and Montana-made items, and more. Proceeds from the gift shop help to feed the ponies, so be sure to show your support for this charming Missoula institution! 101 Carousel Dr, Missoula, MT 59802

Although it only took nine days to construct thanks to the help of over 4,000 volunteers in 2001, Dragon Hollow has been and will continue putting a smile on faces of kids and kids at heart for years to come, including your team. 101 Carousel Dr, Missoula, MT 59802
