Things to Do

Arizona Science Center

Science centers are at their best when they have fascinating and unique exhibits, and this one less than a 10 minute walk away from the Phoenix Convention Center.

When you go to the Arizona Science Center, you will experience nothing short of nonstop scientific amusement. There are so many kinds of exhibits at the Arizona Science Center that even those who don’t have much of an interest in science will be engaged with the interactive activities.

Have you ever wondered what the inside of your stomach looks like, or for that matter, smells like? At Arizona Science Center, that question and more will be answered. Take a stroll through the “working” stomach and gander at all of the parts functioning together to complete the digestion process. You may want to hold your nose at times, digestion doesn’t smell pretty.

Other organs and organ systems are also available to explore, and by the time you finish investigating all of them, you will be an expert on human biology. An out of the box exhibit, the Arizona Science Center has videos of a surgeon performing open heart surgeries on patients that your team can watch if they are interested.

Moving away from the human body, the center has plenty of other exhibit halls that focus on things like building paper airplanes to help teach the basics of physics, an entire display devoted to the efficiency of solar energy and other renewable energies, and a spot where you can ride a bicycle, called a Skycycle, off a platform and ride above your team.

Your team can also watch a show in the planetarium or 3D theater. The various shows will take you through the universe, the Arizona skies, or inside the human body.

The Arizona Science Center also brings in rotating exhibits that last about six months per exhibit. These are well worth checking out because of the exclusivity and extensiveness of the displays.

Chase Field

Near the Phoenix Convention Center, only a short walk down the road sits Chase Field. Any baseball fan will be enthralled with this very modern ballpark. You don’t have to be an Arizona Diamondback fan to have a good time on the tour of Chase Field. All who enter will be treated to 75 minutes of a behind the scenes look of the stadium.

Tours are held year-round, Monday through Saturday, three times a day. At the conclusion of the tour, everyone will receive 10 percent off Diamondback jerseys or other memorabilia at the team shop. AMC CLASSIC Arizona Center 24

Are you dying to see that new blockbuster hit and you can’t wait until you get home to watch it? Good news, you don’t have to if you’re at the Phoenix Convention Center. There’s an enormous move theater that you can walk to when you have some time.

AMC CLASSIC Arizona Center 24 shows about 24 movies throughout the day, so you can take your pick from a large list of options. You don’t need to worry about eating lunch or dinner before you watch your movie either, because the AMC theater has a dine-in feature.

When you sit down, you’ll find a menu at your seat. Order a sandwich, wrap, or any other type of entrée available directly from your chair. Phoenix Police Museum

Honoring Phoenix law enforcement throughout the city’s existence, the Phoenix Police Museum’s collection of artifacts will impress and engross you.

Going all the way back to the beginning, the museum allows you to explore the very first Marshal’s office and jail in the city. You and your team can observe the changes in the force over the decades through uniforms, weapons, badges, photos, and more. An entire display is devoted to the brave citizens who served in the Phoenix SWAT team too. You might even find a disarming bomb robot or two that the police have used. Anyone interested in the vehicles that the police force used will spend a large portion of time examining the helicopter, cars, and motorcycles of the past.

Wells Fargo History Museum

You know of the bank Wells Fargo, but do you know about the company’s history and their influence on the western frontier? After you stop by the Wells Fargo History Museum, you will be well-educated in the bank’s past; the bank’s logo, the stagecoach, will make a lot more sense after you go to the museum too.

The key piece of the museum is the authentic 19th century stage coach that is kept in meticulously good condition. Many valuable precious minerals and gold are displayed in parts of the museum as well. These shiny and colorful spectacles are a delight to look at. Along with these minerals, you’ll find antique firearms and a functional telegraph. The museum has even constructed a replica mine shaft for you to check out.

Phoenix Puzzle Room

Working out your mind is just as important as working out your body. Phoenix Puzzle Room is an exciting place to do just that.

This escape room has three themes for your team to choose. The Pearled Pachyderm will lock your team in an explorer’s study. You must find clues and work together to locate the prized pearl and escape before you get caught.
