Known for its rare and fragile estuarine environment, York River State Park is located on the banks of the York River where sources of both freshwater and saltwater meet. Yorktown Battlefield
While in Williamsburg, you and your team can see for yourselves where hard-fought American independence was finally won at Yorktown Battlefield, the site where the last major battle of the Revolutionary War took place. On October 19, 1781, British forces under the command of Lord Charles Cornwallis surrendered to the combined American and French armies led by General George Washington.
Begin your team’s visit to Yorktown Battlefield with a stop at the visitor center. There you can watch an informative orientation film and peruse a variety of engaging exhibits, one of which even features the field tents used by General Washington during the pivotal battle. Afterwards, take a guided walking tour of the battlefield and adjacent 18th century town led by a knowledgeable and friendly park ranger. You can also drive through the battlefield instead. Freedom Park
Spanning 600 acres, 
Freedom Park offers two miles of multi-use trails. This beautiful scenic park also features a one-mile, ADA-accessible paved trail in addition to more than 20 miles of mountain bike trails. These mountain bike trails wind past historical sites, forests, creeks, and wide open meadows, boasting fantastic views that you and your group will adore.
If you’re feeling extra adventurous, check out the Go Ape zip-line courses located within the park. Their five thrilling courses let participants navigate Freedom Park from a breathtaking treetop vantage point as they traverse zip-lines, obstacles, and other fun features like Tarzan swings.
Also located within Freedom Park is the Williamsburg Botanical Garden.
