Rochester – Things to do with your Team

One of America’s first boomtowns and consistently recognized as a great place to live and visit, Rochester is a city packed with attractions and amusing things to see.  Deciding on what to do will be the most challenging thing during your trip since the city has a variety of attractions the team will want to see.

Make sure to bring some warm clothes depending on when you visit because it gets quite cold up in Rochester.  Dealing with the cold is worth it though since you will get the chance to do a lot of different activities.

The Strong National Museum of Play

RochesterThe Strong National Museum of Play, or The Strong as the locals call it, is a museum like no other.  As you can tell from the name, this place is all about playing.  The Strong has 23 exhibits to offer, all of which have hands-on components.  There is a coral reef aquarium with over 150 species of fish to learn about.

Game Time! and Have a Ball let your team play with basketballs, air hockey, maze games, pinball, battleship, and more.  There’s even an arcade full of classic arcade games.

In the Toy Hall of Fame, your team can learn about the history of the most popular toys ever created.  Interested in how computer gaming grew and became so popular?  Stop by their Oregon Trail, MECC, and Rise of Computer Learning exhibit to find out more.

If traveling with 16 or more, call up two weeks in advance for a group admission rate.  The Strong asks for a ratio of one chaperone for every five kids with groups.  Chaperones must be at least 16 years of age. 1 Manhattan Square Dr, Rochester, NY 14607

Seneca Park Zoo

While you and your team are in Rochester try and head to Seneca Park Zoo.  The zoo is constantly improving its exhibits for both the patrons and the animals.  It is involved with the conservation effort and provides the best care possible for its animals.

Seneca Park Zoo may be on the smaller side, but the amount of animals it has is surprising.  The animals are divided into six classes: amphibians, birds, fish, invertebrates, mammals, and reptiles.  All of them warrant a visit, but some of the more popular animals to keep an eye out for are tigers, elephants, penguins, lions, bald eagles, and rhinos.  The admission prices are very reasonable and kids under 12 have even cheaper ticket prices. 2222 St. Paul Street, Rochester, NY 14621

Frontier Field

Sky Zone Rochester

This is another activity that gets your team up and moving, perfect for after a game to get rid of that leftover energy.  Sky Zone Rochester has a lot of trampoline related fun for the whole team.

For the more casual jumper the freestyle jump area and foam zone are perfect.  Bounce around unrestricted on the floor and walls and dive into a massive foam pit until you get too tired.  Ultimate Dodgeball and Skyslam, a trampoline basketball dunking section, put your athleticism to the test and provide a more competitive environment.  Buying tickets in advance is a smart idea to ensure that Sky Zone will have space for your group. 155 Bellwood Dr, Rochester, NY 14606
