Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Indiana, is an expansive complex with multiple baseball and softball diamonds, soccer fields, and multipurpose areas. Not only is this massive complex perfect for sporting events, but it’s used on a professional level as well. During the off season, the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts train at Grand Park Sports Campus!

Touchdown Trail

The Touchdown Trail activity in Westfield encourages residents to be active and explore the parks in their community. You may have exerted all your energy on the fields on Grand Park Sports Campus, but muster up some more, because there’s a sweet reward waiting for you!

Guests participate in the Touchdown Trail by getting a passport from a designated pick-up station. The next step is to travel down the Monon Trail, stopping at each marker along the trail. Each stop has a sticker, and once guests get all 11 in their passport, they get their sweet reward! Eateries from throughout the area provide some free treats.

This promotion takes place each July, so if you’re visiting Grand Park Sports Campus that month, go ahead and check it out.

 

Italian Festival

Those with a big appetite won’t have to travel far from Grand Park Sports Campus to enjoy some fantastic Italian food. The snack bar at Grand Park Sports Campus may not cut it, so if you’re visiting in July, keep an eye out for the Italian Festival.

This free, annual event supports the St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church. The entire community is welcome to celebrate with a huge Italian feast and plenty of activities. Booths serve all kinds of Italian dishes, such as lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, and pizza. You can also treat yourself with tiramisu, cannoli, or some refreshing gelato.

After filling up on homemade food, take part in carnival games, get your face painted, and listen to the live music performances. At the end of the night, enjoy the fireworks show, and, above all, be grateful that your visit to Grand Park Sports Campus landed on this weekend.

 

Movies in the Park

Kick off the weekend with Movies in the Park! Every Friday in August, visitors can relax at the local Asa Bales Park and watch a family-friendly movie under the stars. Bring blankets, chairs, and snacks, and settle in for a great night. Guests can even enjoy some free popcorn!

This classic summer activity is a great way to enjoy the Westfield community. Before a busy weekend at Grand Park Sports Campus, relax and enjoy a movie at Asa Bales Park.

 

Amigos de Westfield

Amigos de Westfield is an annual festival that celebrates Hispanic culture. This special event features delicious food, such as street corn and enchiladas. A talented mariachi band performs onstage, much to the delight of attendees. There are traditional dance performances in which dancers swirl and twirl in their colorful, traditional Mexican dresses. Meanwhile, the kids can jump in bounce houses and take a swing at a pinata.

This festival is a Westfield favorite, so if you’re visiting Grand Park Sports Campus in August, check to see if Amigos de Westfield is going on.

 

Jake Laird Community Day

Jake Laird Community Day takes place each year in honor of Indianapolis Police Officer Timothy “Jake” Laird, who gave his life in the line of duty. His parents created a memorial fund in his name and host this community celebration.

Jake Laird Community Day is perfect for kids, as it includes a rock wall, face painting, a balloon artist, dunk tank, and bounce houses. In addition to these kid-oriented activities, Jake Laird Community Day features a K-9 demonstration, information on bike safety, and a meet-and-greet with the Westfield Police Department.

Jake Laird Community Day takes place in Quaker Park in early September and is a great activity for those visiting Grand Park Sports Campus.

 

Westfield Safety Festival

Grand Park Sports ComplexNot only does the Westfield Police Department have a community event, but the Westfield Fire Department does as well. The Westfield Safety Festival takes place each year to provide health and safety information to the community.

Guests can get an up-close view of firetrucks, ask firefighters questions, and meet police officers. The Westfield Fire Department sets up a smokehouse for kids to venture through and learn how to quickly and safely evacuate a smokey house.

There’s so much more to learn at Westfield Safety Festival, and the information is applicable to guests from all over! This festival takes place in early September, so mark your calendars.

 

Grand Fall Fest

Grand Park Sports CampusFall is the season of changing foliage, comfort food, harvests, and sports. So after visiting Grand Park Sports Campus, be sure to head over and check out the Grand Fall Fest.

This festival celebrates everything Autumn and takes part in Grand Park. Its location makes it convenient for all at Grand Park Sports Campus to visit. The park has 400 acres of space, which means there’s plenty of room for activities. Grand Fall Fest features wagon rides, bounce houses, food stands, shopping booths, and more. It’s the perfect place for all to celebrate fall.

 

Barktoberfest

We all know Oktoberfest, but what about Barktoberfest? This unique event gets dog owners from throughout the community to bring their loyal companions to enjoy a day full of fun.

There are vendors at the Mutt Mart selling accessories, toys, and snacks all for dogs. The Canine Cabana features activities for dogs and people alike. There is even an Agility Arena for dogs to run around and test their skills! Get portraits taken with your pet, see what your dog would look like as a caricature, and dip their paws in paint to create a unique craft. The most enthusiastic dog and pet owner duo can even participate in the annual pet costume contest.

There is so much fun to be had at Barktoberfest, which takes place at the end of October. The event benefits the Humane Society of Hamilton County, so you’ll be having lots of fun while supporting a great cause. This festival is one of the most unique in Westfield, making it a must-visit.

 

Westfield in Lights

Grand Park Sports CampusNo community would be complete without a holiday festival, and Westfield in Lights satisfies that requirement. Free activities include pictures with Santa and Frosty the Snowman, a gingerbread house display, a live reindeer show, and children’s choir performances. Kids can write a letter to Santa and use their artistic abilities to create their own ornament.

To get a great view of the festivities, gather the entire family and pile into a horse drawn carriage. Here, you’ll ride throughout the area to see the lights twinkling above. At the end of the afternoon, sip on some hot chocolate while watching the tree-lighting ceremony. This quintessential holiday festival is one to see. So if you’re visiting Grand Park Sports Campus in the beginning of December, you’d be remiss not to check it out.
