Aurora – Things to do with your Team

The city divided by Fox River, Aurora was once split into two sections.  East and West Aurora developed alongside one another and over the years, animosity started to form. This hostility festered so much so that in 1857 when the two towns officially joined, neither side could agree on where the public buildings should be constructed.  Their compromise? Build an artificial island in the middle of Fox River called Stolp Island and house the buildings there.  Nowadays, Aurora’s bitterness has subsided and the city is united as one.  You and your team will have a great time while you’re there.

Phillips Park Zoo

Aurora - Things to do with your Team - Travel - Hotels4TeamsWalk on the wild side and visit Phillips Park Zoo.  This zoo’s admission is extremely cheap, so cheap in fact it’s free.  While enjoying a day at the zoo your team will get the chance to see a diverse collection of animals.  Watch some playful river otters dive in and out of water or appreciate the ferocity of cougars and gray wolves.  Bald eagles, elk, and alligators are among some of the other animals you will encounter while you’re there.  Guided tours are offered, but must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance to your visit.  For some added fun, print out the zoo’s scavenger hunt sheet and have your team compete against each other to find out who can solve all of the clues the fastest.  Don’t worry, you don’t need to know all of the answers yourself, the zoo provides an answer sheet1000 Ray Moses Dr, Aurora, IL 60505
