The city divided by Fox River, Aurora was once split into two sections. East and West Aurora developed alongside one another and over the years, animosity started to form. This hostility festered so much so that in 1857 when the two towns officially joined, neither side could agree on where the public buildings should be constructed. Their compromise? Build an artificial island in the middle of Fox River called Stolp Island and house the buildings there. Nowadays, Aurora’s bitterness has subsided and the city is united as one. While enjoying a day at the zoo your team will get the chance to see a diverse collection of animals. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been roller skating before or this is your first time. Aurora Skate Center brings all the fun of skating for an affordable price. Don’t worry if you are new to skating because the staff is there to help you get a feel for it. Before you know it, you’ll be rolling around like everyone else. You have the choice of renting three types of skates when you visit: roller skates, speed skates, or inline skates (rollerblades). On paper, a farm/park may not seem like the most exciting place to stop, but you’d be wrong in thinking so. At Blackberry Farm, there’s plenty to keep the team busy, or simply relax and slow down after going a mile a minute all trip. Go visit some cute animals in the barn, like piglets, baby goats, sheep, and chickens. If your team has some pent up energy, they can play around on the climbing decks, slide, ropes, and zip line. Blackberry Farm is also a good spot to have a picnic. Sky Zone
Looking for a surefire attraction in Aurora that the whole team will love? Look no further than Sky Zone. This popular trampoline park chain has locations throughout the country, but Aurora’s goes above and beyond the Sky Zone standard. Most Sky Zones have four or five activities, this one has eight. Like all Sky Zones, Aurora has the free jump section, Sky Slam, ultimate dodgeball, and foam zone. Also included in Sky Zone Aurora are lesser seen trampoline park attractions. Sky Joust pits you against an opponent and arms you with gigantic lance. You are then tasked with maintaining your balance on the pedestal and knocking the opponent off of theirs. Chaser Laser Tag
Chaser Laser Tag takes laser tag very seriously. So serious in fact that they have two types of laser tag to choose from. Kids under 12 only have the option of classic laser tag. Chaser does an awesome job assuring that you will have a fun time playing. Armed with your laser gun you must hunt down and tag the other team as much as possible in hopes of scoring more points. For those who are 12 or older, an entire new kind of laser tag is optional. Called iCombat, this is a mission driven style of laser tag. You and your squad will receive military like weapons and armor and will be sent on your way to accomplish your mission. Visiting Aurora in the summer time? Then take a trip to Splash Country Water Park. This is the ideal summer activity to get away from the heat and have tons of fun while doing it. Make some big splashes and zip down the park’s two log flumes or chill out on the lazy river. Splash Country throws a few curveballs in their lazy river that you might not be expecting. Watch out for dump buckets, sprayers, jets, and rapids while you gingerly float down the river.
