Since 1864, Arlington has been the final resting place for more than 400,000 of the nation’s bravest. The majority of those buried in Arlington are servicemen from the Army, Navy, and Marine Corps who served in conflicts from the Revolutionary War to Iraq and Afghanistan.

To this day Arlington remains an active cemetery, with an average of 27 to 30 funerals taking place there each weekday. More than 3,000 memorial or remembrance ceremonies take place in Arlington each year as well.
