There are only a handful of cities in the United States that are older than Boston. The territory was first settled as a town back in 1630 and later incorporated as a city in 1822. It has grown into one of the most exciting cities in America, brimming with all sorts of unique attractions and stellar restaurants. Consider yourself lucky if you’re traveling to Boston to attend an event at the Hynes Convention Center. Not only is the complex renowned for its amenities, services, and seamless event hosting, it’s also located near many of Boston’s famous landmarks and attractions.

Morning

For the true Boston experience, you need to go to The Pour House. This no frills eatery will treat you to a hearty breakfast and some morning cocktails if you’re in the mood for them. You can dig into a signature omelet or create your own. Pancakes and french toast are well-represented, as are the egg dishes. Some of the “Great Eats” worth trying are the Super Homefries piled with bacon, sausage, cheese, and eggs; and the Pour Man’s Hash which consists of mashed potatoes, bacon, cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, with two eggs and toast. To wash all this delicious food down, you can order a Bloody Mary or Irish Coffee. Too early for a stiff drink? The Pour House also serves fruit juice, milk, and coffee.

Not everyone is a morning person. That’s why places like Thinking Cup exist. This cozy café proudly serves Stumptown Coffee and Third Wave Coffee exclusively. Besides regular coffee, Thinking Cup has espresso, macchiato, lattes, Americano, and a few other coffee-style drinks. The café is more than just a place to get good coffee and tea, however. It has delicious breakfast dishes like a burrito with your choice of sausage, bacon, ham or chorizo with egg, salsa, black beans, and pepper-jack cheese on a flour tortilla. Fresh bagels, croissants, scones, and muffins are great if you aren’t hungry enough for a full breakfast. Thinking Cup is also open lunch. The lunch menu is full of awesome sandwiches.

No trip is complete with some souvenirs. You won’t have to walk far from Hynes Convention Center to buy them either. Newbury Street is an eight block section of the city that’s full of cool shops, boutiques, restaurants, and more. The diversity of stores guarantees that there is something here for everybody. You can shop for some new clothes at one of the many apparel stores or search for some souvenirs for the folks back home at a gift shop. In need of some pampering? Get a massage from Aloha Boston Massage. Other specialty shops sell things like candy, electronics, books, records, and jewelry.

After eating such a large breakfast, you might want to work off some of those calories. If that’s the case, the best spot to explore is the Public Garden. This beautiful garden is the oldest public botanical garden in the entire country. As you stroll through the serene setting, you’ll spot more than 80 species of stunning plants. The garden is centered around a lake. Here, visitors can rent a swan boat and peddle on the water for 15 minutes.

Hynes Convention CenterJust a few blocks from Hynes Convention Center sits one of Boston’s most renowned landmarks, one of baseball’s oldest stadiums: Fenway Park. This ballpark has been a central figure in Major League Baseball since its opening day back on April 20, 1912. Over 100 years later, it continues to be celebrated for its influence and of course the hulking Green Monster. There are nine different types offered, so you can go back multiple times and always see something new. Don’t pass up your chance to witness this historic ballpark in person.
