CHI Health Center Omaha – Bar Crawl

After a day spent at the CHI Health Center Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska, you should head out into the city to unwind. This is a great area to spend a night out because Omaha sure knows how to throw a party. Their nightlife scene is clear proof of this. So are you ready to take on an Omaha bar crawl?

We’ve constructed a bar crawl that will give you a taste of the best nighttime hotspots in the city. It will be a surefire favorite for all the beer lovers out there. In total, there are five bars on this itinerary. All bars are within two miles of the CHI Health Center Omaha, and they are all within walking distance from one another.

Huber-Haus

Start the night by taking a five-minute taxi or rideshare from CHI Health Center Omaha over to Huber-Haus. Local eatery Crescent Moon wanted to expand the beer experience they could offer customers, so they decided to open Huber-Haus. It is located on the lower level underneath Crescent Moon.

Huber-Haus is an authentic German bier bar with quirky decor like wood panel walls sporting beer signs and taxidermy deer heads. Being a German bier bar, don’t plan on finding cocktails or wine here. There are 15 beers on tap and over 10 bottled beers to choose from. You may decide to begin the night with das boot, which is a traditional drinking glass in the shape of a boot.

Crescent Moon

Getting to Crescent Moon from Huber-Haus is super simple. Just head upstairs! Crescent Moon has been around since 1996, and it has been featured in Draft Magazine’s list of Top 100 Beer Bars in America numerous years in a row.

As previously mentioned, Crescent Moon opened Huber-Haus because they wanted to give patrons a larger beer selection. This might sound crazy when you realize that Crescent Moon already has over 60 beers on tap as it is. That’s right. You will have over 60 beers to choose from.

You’ll also want to order food there. Omaha is the home to the original Reuben sandwich, and Crescent Moon has an award-winning Reuben recipe. If corned beef isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other appetizers, sandwiches, salads, and wraps to try. Vegetarians taking on this beer crawl will also have a nice selection of options from Crescent Moon’s menu to choose from, including the veggie melt, house salad, and Outta This World Nachos.

Scriptown Brewing Company

From Crescent Moon, take a seven-minute walk over to Scriptown Brewing Company. Scriptown Brewing Company was founded in 2012, and it has an interesting beginning. Scott Stephens used to work in Portland, Oregon, which is where his appreciation for handcrafted beer really began.
Upon Scott’s return to Omaha, he was introduced to John Fahrer. John was a homebrewer for over 25 years and even won the Homebrewer of the Year award in New Orleans, beating over 3,300 entries. When these two met, it didn’t take long for their love of beer to lead them to start their own brewing company.

When you walk into this industrial yet rustic taproom, you will have over 10 beers to choose from. You can even drink the beer that won John the Homebrewer of the Year award, Muddy Mo Amber Ale. If you’re getting tired of beers, they also have a few cocktails you can order.

Nite Owl

Just steps away from Scriptown Brewing Company is Nite Owl. They have a great selection of cocktails, shots, and wine. If you’d prefer to keep drinking beer, there’s also a rotating tap. Keep an eye out for their daily drink specials.

Nite Owl’s decor reflects its obsession with cult classic movies. In fact, while you enjoy your cocktail you can watch a movie on the big screen behind the bar. If you worked up an appetite, they also sell vegan and vegetarian bites all night.

Hopefully, you’re not ready to call it an early night. You only have one stop left. But if you do want to end here, the CHI Health Center Omaha is an eight-minute drive away.

Sullivan’s Bar

Your last bar of the night, Sullivan’s Bar, is a stone’s throw away from Nite Owl. Sullivan’s Bar gives off a speakeasy feel with relaxed decor and brick walls. They have a small selection of beers and ciders on tap and handcrafted cocktails.

While you drink your final drinks of the night, play a game at the shuffleboard. This fully restored shuffleboard came from the former 49’r Lounge in Omaha, which was torn down years ago. Or you can hang out at one of the tables or bar and watch a game on the television. Whether you play a game or watch one, this will be a relaxed atmosphere to wrap up the night. When you close your tab, you’ll be only a little over two miles from the CHI Health Center Omaha.
