Quail Hollow Club is a private, member-owned club. Whether you’re visiting this venue as a member or a guest, you’re on the outskirts of the exciting city of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Charlotte is a popular city in North Carolina for hosting events. With an abundance of festivals held in the Queen City throughout the year, you don’t want to end the revelries at the Quail Hollow Club. Check out this list of the largest festivals in the city to see if one is taking place while you’re visiting.

Queen City Brewers Festival

At the beginning of February, guests can enjoy drinks and food at The Park Expo & Conference Center, which is less than nine miles from the Quail Hollow Club. The Queen City Brewers Festival brings locally produced beer, cider, coffee, and kombucha to the city of Charlotte. In addition to various breweries, the festival includes food from hand-picked restaurants.

This is a popular event and guests need tickets. However, with limited space for the two tasting sessions, the festival can sell out. Order your tickets ahead of time to ensure a spot. Tickets cost $50, but all proceeds go to ACEing Autism, which is a non-profit organization that serves more than 1,300 children with autism weekly.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Charlotte Goes Green Festival

If you’re going to be at the Quail Hollow Club around St. Patrick’s Day, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Charlotte Goes Green Festival are the places to be. The parade starts at 11 a.m. on North Tryon Street and travels through Uptown Charlotte.

After the parade, the Charlotte Goes Green Festival kicks off on South Tryon Street until 6 p.m. The festival includes Irish music, dancers, bagpipers, vendors, and entertainment for children. Both the parade and festival are free to attend, so join in the celebrations and be Irish for a day!

Moo and Brew Fest

Aptly named, the Moo and Brew Fest is a craft beer and burger festival that occurs mid-April. During the festival, guests can try samples of different beers and burgers. Local restaurants are all aiming to win the Moo & Brew Festival’s Best Burger.

There are two different tickets available for this event. The first is a VIP ticket, which includes exclusive offerings from breweries, a glass, swag, and a free burger. General admission tickets include regular tastings from breweries. Regardless of which ticket you purchase, live musical performances go on all day. To partake in the burger and beer festivities, take a 30-minute drive from Quail Hollow Club to the AvidXchange Music Factory.

North Carolina Brewers and Music Festival

A month after the Moo and Brew, there’s another beer-themed event happening near Charlotte. The North Carolina Brewers and Music Festival takes place mid-May, and it is a weekend-long festival. So if you’re going on a long trip in Charlotte, you might want to purchase tickets and stay at the campground at Historic Rural Hill.

There are one-day tickets, however, for those who do not have an entire weekend to spend at this festival. Since this takes place at Historic Rural Hill, it is a 45-minute drive from the Quail Hollow Club. This could influence your decision to stay for the weekend.

Whether you choose to stay for the weekend or just come for a day, a great time awaits. Friday night is when concerts begin and beer is for sale. However, on Saturday, beer tastings become available. Live performances will also start at noon. On both Saturday and Sunday, morning yoga sessions are available to all, and they are completely free.

Tuck Fest

Are you an outdoor enthusiast? Do you love hiking, kayaking, biking, running, or all of the above? If so, then Tuck Fest is right up your alley! This outdoor extravaganza takes place in April at the U.S. National Whitewater Center, which is a 30-minute drive from the Quail Hollow Club.

There are two ways to enjoy Tuck Fest. The first is to come as a spectator, which means you are there to watch events and demos, listen to live music, and buy from vendors. Attending as a spectator is free, aside from the parking fee. However, if you want to participate in any of the competitions, you must register and pay a participation fee.

Kings Drive Art Walk

At the beginning of May, the Kings Drive Art Walk brings everyone together to enjoy arts, music, and live entertainment. At this arts outing, guests can view hundreds of pieces of artwork from paintings and photography to sculpture and glass. Additionally, live music performances take place throughout the Little Sugar Creek Greenway at various locations. There are even performances by aerial and dance artists.

If you want to see the artwork and performances along the Sugar Creek Greenway for free, just take an 18-minute drive over there from the Quail Hollow Club.

Festival in the Park

Not visiting the Quail Hollow Club in May but still want to admire artwork? No problem! Another opportunity to do so is at Festival in the Park, which is held in September. Throughout the weekend artists have their work on display just as they would during the Kings Drive Art Walk. There are also live musical performances throughout the day, from big band and bluegrass to country and Celtic. This event also includes a lot of family-friendly entertainment and activities, such as the Family Fun Zone with rides like a carousel and Ferris wheel. This art festival is free as well.

Circle K Speed Street

Charlotte is known for hosting major NASCAR races and is home to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. A popular racing event is the Circle K Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. This event marks the beginning of race season.

Vendors, racing-related activities, live entertainment, interactive displays, and giveaways all line Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte, which is about eight miles from the Quail Hollow Club. At night, local, regional, and national musicians will take the stage in Romare Bearden Park. Tickets for the event are $20.

Bojangles’ Summer Shootout

If you’re looking for even more racing fun, head to the Bojangles’ Summer Shootout during the months of June and July. Every week there are racing events going on. One week you may see Legend Cars and Bandoleros; the next week you could see buses racing.

Tickets for this event are $8 and children under the age of 13 can attend for free. It is a great family-friendly festival. The racing takes place at Charlotte Motor Speedway, which is a 42-minute drive from the Quail Hollow Club.

Taste of Charlotte

Also in the month of June, the three-day Taste of Charlotte puts the spotlight on quality cooking. It is presented by Food Lion, a local grocery store. Guests can try over 100 samples from local restaurants.

Along Tryon Street, there is food, cooking demos, live music and entertainment, shopping, and more. The event is free, and attendees just need to purchase festival coins if they wish to sample food and beverages. If you’re at the Quail Hollow Club during the month of June, definitely don’t miss out on the foodie festivities!

Queen’s Feast: Charlotte Restaurant Week

Aldi is another grocery store that sponsors a food festival. They bring the Queen’s Feast: Charlotte Restaurant Week to those in Queen’s City in both January and July. Even though it is a week-long event, those interested are strongly encouraged to make reservations.

A $35 ticket will get you a three-course dinner made by some of the best restaurants in the nine surrounding counties around Charlotte. Guests pick a restaurant and go to that eatery for the meal. This also allows you to find a restaurant located close to the Quail Hollow Club.The days and hours vary depending on the restaurant you choose.

UNC Charlotte International Festival

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte has hosted the UNC Charlotte International Festival for many years. It has become an annual campus tradition. Festivities take place in September on UNC’s main campus, which is about a half hour drive from the Quail Hollow Club.

At this free festival, over 50 nations are represented at booths that feature art, crafts, and costumes. Food from many cultures is also available for purchase. Throughout the event, traditional music and dance take place on both indoor and outdoor stages. There’s also a game zone, face painting, street performances, and more.

Charlotte Dragon Boat Festival and Asian Festival

The Charlotte Dragon Boat Festival and Asian Festival run in tandem to celebrate the Asian-Pacific Heritage Month of May. This Asian-themed cultural event takes place at Ramsey Creek Park, which is a 43-minute drive from the Quail Hollow Club.

Throughout the festival, there will be a variety of presentations about Asian culture and dance and music performances. You can enjoy Asian cuisine from the vendors while you watch live entertainment. In between the performances, the Dragon Boat races occur. The entire festival culminates with the boat race award ceremony.

Festa Italiana

Mangia! A ticket to Festa Italiana grants you access to all-you-can-eat Italian cuisine. In mid-May, 14 of the best chefs of Italian fare come to Charlotte for this festival. You’ll also have access to bottomless wines, proseccos, and Peroni beer. Head to the Promenade at Gateway Village in Uptown Charlotte to fill your belly with food from award-winning chefs. It’s a 23-minute drive from the Quail Hollow Club.

There’s more to this festival than just food, though. You get to see work from local Italian artists and authors. Afterward, head to the silent auction and you can bid on some of their work. To add to the fun, there are live musical performances and dancing. Younger children can play in the Kid Zone.

No matter how you spend your time at Festa Italiana, you can feel good knowing that all the proceeds go to St. Anthony’s Foundation, which helps those with intellectual, developmental, and physical special needs and challenges.

Festival of India

Come October, Charlotte draws in nearly 20,000 people for the Festival of India. India is an extremely diverse country culturally, religiously, and ethnically, so it is no surprise that a festival meant to honor this diversity brings in such a large crowd. This event takes place nine miles from the Quail Hollow Club at the Belk Theater.

The Festival of India is both fun and educational. Informational booths and vendors around the Belk Theater teach guests about the expansive artistry, language, fashion, and cuisine of India. Additionally, there are Indian dancing performances and demos, musical performances, yoga demos, and Henna tattoos.

Yiasou Greek Festival

Since 1978, Charlotte has been celebrating Greek culture with the Yiasou Greek Festival. This family-friendly festival brings together authentic Greek cuisine, music, dancing, arts, and shopping every September. Like the Festival of India, the Yiasou Greek Festival is also educational because there are exhibits that teach attendees about Hellenic culture.

The festival is held at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, which is about seven and a half miles from the Quail Hollow Club.

Hola Charlotte Festival

The Hola Charlotte Festival kicks off the city’s celebration of Hispanic heritage in October. This festival is located on South Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte. This is the largest Hispanic heritage event in the city, and it is used to bring people of all backgrounds and ages together to recognize the culture’s richness.

During the event, guests can try authentic food and drinks from 15 Latin American countries. Stroll down the street to see the work of local artists. There is also a section that displays traditional and contemporary Hispanic fashion. Throughout, there are live music and dance performances. If you want to get more involved, there are even Zumba demos and opportunities to dance.

Carolina Renaissance Festival

Throughout October and November, the Carolina Renaissance Festival runs on weekends. Guests can escape reality at the 25-acre theme park that includes cottages, castles, pubs, rides, and games. This site in the woodlands north of Charlotte is about a 45-minute drive from the Quail Hollow Club.

The Carolina Renaissance Festival is officially one of the largest Renaissance fairs in the United States. There’s no shortage of activities at this festival. You can join in activities and become a character in the festival village by singing songs, trying the food, and cheering on jousting tournaments. Other entertainment includes live music and comedy performances as well. To take part in all of the fun, purchase tickets online. Adult tickets are $25, and $15 for children.

Speedway Christmas

Are you going to be in Charlotte during the winter holiday season? Speedway Christmas brings holiday cheer to the Charlotte Motor Speedway, which is a 40-minute drive from the Quail Hollow Club. This holiday light show runs nightly through the month of December, with the exception of Christmas Day.

This impressive light show features three and a half million lights strung up around the speedway. You can drive through the lights and admire them from your vehicle. There are also lights throughout the infield and grandstands, and a 50-foot-tall Ferris wheel has recently been added to the event. Walk through the lights on the infield and stop to take pictures with Santa, listen to music performed by local bands, and shop at the vendors in Christmas Village. On select days throughout the month, there is also a drive-in movie screen setup that shows popular holiday films.
