Akron – Things to do with your Team

Akron, Ohio, is a city known for many inventions, so much so, that one of its nicknames is the City of Invention. Akron’s most notable invention is the rubber tire. A couple of Akron residents also have some reputable claim that they might have created the hamburger as well. The invention of the rubber tire gave Akron another one of its nicknames, Rubber City. Back in 1910 it was the fastest growing city in the United States. It may not be the largest city or the fastest growing any longer, but during your stay, your team will have plenty to do.

Akron Zoo

Give in to your wild side and have an adventure with some animals at Akron Zoo.  From the second you arrive, you and your team will feel welcomed thanks to the zoo’s extremely friendly staff.  They are willing to help you with anything you might need, and always have smiles on their faces.  Akron Zoo has nine habitat exhibits, but the number of animals this zoo takes care of is astonishing.  Split between six animal classes, and a carnivorous plant class, your team will have a lot of animals they will want to check out before they leave.

Observe big cats like lions, tigers, and jaguars playing and gawk at their immense size.  Bald eagles, Humboldt penguins, Hyacinth macaws, chameleons, and other animals are also worth checking out.  Akron Zoo is involved in the conservation effort as well.  The zoo is working hard with conservation research and educates their guests on the effort.  Although on the smaller size, Akron Zoo will provide a fun day out for you and your team. 500 Edgewood Ave, Akron, OH 44307

The city of invention certainly has many inventive ways for your team to enjoy themselves.  Without Akron creating the rubber tire, you wouldn’t even be able to drive to your tournament or sight see around the city!  Your team might not be able to get to everything they wanted, but that’s okay.  You will have more to do when you come back.
