Foxborough, Massachusetts, is home to the NFL’s New England Patriots and the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer. Both teams play at the Gillette Stadium, which is what the town is best known for.

Another sports center that brings in tourists to the town of Foxborough is the Foxboro Sports Center. With many visitors coming to town for the Foxboro Sports Center and the Gillette Stadium, there are many chain restaurants around. Sal’s & Mal’s Pizzeria

There’s no problem wanting simple comfort food while you travel. Pizza is definitely a food that you can’t go wrong with. Family-owned Sal’s & Mal’s Pizzeria is just over a mile away from the Foxboro Sports Center, so it’s a good option when you’re looking for a quick meal.

They have around 20 pizzas to choose from. Some are quite unique, such as the pesto pizza with eggplant, roasted red peppers, basil, and feta. Besides pizza, they also serve a variety of pasta dishes and subs.

 

Primo’s Sandwich Shops

Primo’s Sandwich Shops is right around the corner from Sal’s & Mal’s, so it’s also just over a mile from the Foxboro Sports Center. It’s a great place to grab lunch on the go.

When you stop in for dinner, you have a solid variety of dishes to choose from. You can get something simple like mac and cheese or treat yourself with the braised short rib. There are also seafood options available. Order a New England lobster roll or the Fresh Catch Panzanella. From the bar, pair your meal with one of the beers on tap, a glass of wine, or signature cocktail.

If you’re there on a weekend, you can pop in for a hearty brunch. There are a ton of egg options, from Benedicts and omelets to quiches and egg sandwiches. For something sweet, order either chocolate chip pancakes, cinnamon roll French toast, or caramel drizzle waffles. On weekends as it gets closer to lunch, Union Straw serves sandwiches and burgers.

 

Trattoria Della Nonna

Bringing traditional Italian cuisine to a small town is Trattoria Della Nonna. This restaurant is a nine-minute drive from the Foxboro Sports Center and a stone’s throw away from the Xfinity Center. Even though it’s near big venues, entering this eatery feels like you’ve walked into your grandma’s kitchen!

This eatery focuses on flavors from Calabria, Italy. The menu is compact and structured with care to make sure all flavors and textures meld together. Start your meal with an appetizer of stuffed artichoke. Artichokes are very important in Italian culture, and in this recipe, it is stuffed with pancetta, parsley, and garlic before being oven-roasted.

Next, select either a pasta or a meat dish for your main course. Pasta dishes include rigatoni Calabrian-style bolognese, tagliatelle scampi and sausage, and risotto seafood. For a meat dish, you could order the filet of sole al forno, which features fresh sole and blue crab, or a chicken cutlet Milanese.

If you’re craving Asian cuisine, head over to Cheng-Du Restaurant. Cheng-Du is next to Flynn’s, making it about a nine-minute drive from the Foxboro Sports Center. This laid-back eatery specializes in Chinese cuisine influenced by Szechuan and Mandarin cultures.

At Cheng-Du Restaurant, guests can enjoy familiar Chinese dishes like lo mein, chow mein, and sweet and sour chicken, pork, or shrimp. But with traditional Szechuan and Mandarin options available too, why not branch out and try something new?

Moo-shi is a classic Mandarin dish that comes with eggs, mushrooms, scallions, bamboo shoots, and wood ears. You also have the option to add a meat. It is all wrapped in thin pancakes so it’s easy to eat with your hands.
