Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach

There are a few beaches that are quite close to the Anaheim Convention Center. Two very popular beaches that are within a 30- to 40-minute drive from Anaheim are Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach. Both are gorgeous destinations for a day out in the sun.

Huntington Beach is a 30-minute drive from the Anaheim Convention Center and a beautiful spot to spend the day. You can press your toes into the sand, sunbathe, and swim in the ocean. If you love to surf, this is a perfect chance to bring or rent a surfboard because Huntington Beach is known as Surf City. Additionally, whale-watching tours are offered year-round.

When you’re ready to leave the beach, you can walk the iconic Huntington Beach Pier, which is Huntington’s most famous landmark. It is a great spot for photography because you will have panoramic views of Catalina Island, Newport Beach, Long Beach, and San Pedro.

After a day by the ocean, head into Pacific City to enjoy shopping at surf shops and boutiques. You can also find nighttime entertainment like art galleries and live music happening throughout the city. Before heading back to Anaheim, grab dinner in Huntington to enjoy oceanfront dining and local craft beer. Have a burger at Simmzy’s or some fresh seafood at Slapfish.

The second beach option is Laguna Beach, which is closer to a 40-minute drive from the Anaheim Convention Center. However, this premier coastal destination is well worth the trip when you plan on spending the day in Laguna Beach.

Much like Huntington Beach, you can spend the day sunbathing and swimming in the ocean, and then at night shop around and enjoy delicious cuisine. But what makes Laguna Beach special is its seven miles of sea caves and tide pools for visitors to explore. Also, for those who love to bike or hike, there are 20,000 acres of protected wilderness to traverse.
