Ferrante Winery & Ristorante is another fantastic winery just minutes from SPIRE Institute. At Ferrante, the food is as celebrated as the wine. The Ferrante family opened their first winery in Cleveland in 1937 and have been making award-winning wine ever since. Throughout the generations, Ferrante family members have combined their 80 years of traditional winemaking with innovative techniques. This results in some uniquely delicious wines for you to enjoy on the outdoor patio that overlooks their vineyards.

Laurello Vineyards

This is true for Laurello Vineyards, founded in 2002 by Larry and Kim Laurello in honor of Larry’s grandfather. His grandfather, Cosmo Anthony Laurello, owned and operated an Ohio winery in the 1940s. He gave up this dream to support his family by working on the railroads, but his family brought it back to life.
The wines at Laurello Vineyards are inspired by old-world traditions and made with Ohio-grown grapes, creating a classic glass of quality wine. Their selection also includes unique flavors like a pear Riesling and habanero ice wine.

In addition to serving quality wines, Laurello Vineyards hosts live music every weekend from April to December. Their spacious yard, stone patio, and porch area are the ideal places for guests to spend time enjoying the nice weather. Guests can grab a flight of wines to try as they enjoy the entertainment.

The Winery at Spring Hill

Picky wine drinkers should definitely visit The Winery at Spring Hill, as they have a selection of more than 20 types of wine and multiple hard ciders. Spring Hill has been a family-owned orchard for generations, and in 2009 a family member realized the untapped potential of opening a winery.

The Winery at Spring Hill has a charming, barn-like appearance with a comfortable and welcoming interior. On Saturday nights, the relaxing and cozy winery hosts a dance party with live music, flowing wine, and tasty food.

Like many of the other wineries near SPIRE Institute, The Winery at Spring Hill features a relaxing patio for guests. The Winery also features a stage, dance floor, and a fire pit surrounded by comfortable, outdoor furniture. Guests can also check out their gift shop for a souvenir commemorating their journey through Ohio’s wine country.

Kosicek Vineyards

Just over five minutes from SPIRE Institute is Kosicek Vineyards, an establishment that has been family-owned for generations. The Kosicek family can trace their roots, literally, back to 1929 when their grandfather first planted at the vineyard. These roots have proven to be strong, as the Kosicek family still uses these grapes to create their delicious wines onsite.

Kosicek’s wines include Cabernet Franc Reserve, Estate Vidal Blanc Ice Wine, and a unique creation called Rhapsody. Their Rhapsody wine is a Champagne-like blend of pinot noir and Riesling that features the taste of strawberry and cranberry. Harpersfield Vineyard

Harpersfield Vineyard feels like a home away from home and is located seven minutes from SPIRE Institute. Step into their tasting room and you might be welcomed by their “mascot,” a small dog named Toby. Grab a glass of wine and sit on the couch in front of the fireplace, and Toby may snuggle up alongside you. Many consider Harpersfield Vineyard the friendliest wineries in the area, as they treat everyone like a regular.

Not only does Harpersfield have a wonderful and charming atmosphere, but delicious wines as well. This vineyard grows their own fruit, which they then transform into some of the best wine in the area. Try some of their classic wines, such as Chardonnay, pinot gris, and Gewurztraminer.
