Springfield – Things to do with your Team

The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is one of the best places to do so, with exhibits that will immerse you and your team in the world and time of America’s 16th president. As its name suggests, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum spans two buildings: the museum and the library, which are located immediately across the street from one another. There you’ll find immersive exhibits and displays featuring original artifacts that will make it feel as if you have stepped back in time for a one-of-a-kind experience that is as educational as it is entertaining. Admission to the museum can be purchased online ahead of time and also at the museum’s entrance. Admission to the library is free. 212 N 6th St, Springfield, IL 62701

Lincoln Home National Historic Site

Like every other president, Abraham Lincoln had to live somewhere before he changed his address to the White House. That “somewhere” is located right in Springfield, at what is now the Lincoln Home National Historic Site. Opened to the public in 1887 and welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, this 1839 Greek revival house was home to Abraham and Mary Lincoln for 17 years. Now you can step back in time as you take a tour of this historic abode, tracing Lincoln’s footsteps through the parlor, bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, and more. Admission to tour the house is free, but tickets are issued on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each tour is limited to 15 individuals, so be sure to plan accordingly. 426 S 7th St, Springfield, IL 62701

The garden consists of outdoor plantings, a greenhouse, and a conservatory, altogether containing over 1200 species of plants. Best of all, admission to the garden is free. Another notable feature of the park’s west side is the Thomas Rees Memorial Carillon. This 132-foot tower features 67 bells and three observation decks within its open interior.
