About U.s. Cellular Community Park
U.S. Cellular Community Park (USCCP) is a 132-acre state-of-the-art sports park that is owned by the City of Medford and operated by the Medford Parks and Recreation Department. USCCP is currently the city's largest developed park property and carried a construction cost of $32 million. U.S. Cellular Community Park is known for the facilities 11 all-weather, fence-to-fence artificial turf fields that are able to be used year-round and require little downtime for field maintenance. One of the features that makes USCCP the largest municipal sports park of its types is due to the 1.4 million square feet of FieldTurd-brand synthetic grass. At this point in time, three of the four planned construction phases are complete with the fourth having a airport car rental tax increase being approved by the MedfordC City Council in October 2013. When the fourth construction phase is completed, USCCP will include 15 total ball fields: a five-field softball/baseball complex, a five-field multi-sport complex, two full-size baseball fields, two youth baseball/fastpitch fields, and the Harry & David Field (natural grass stadium). In 2008, U.S. Cellular purchased the facility naming rights as part of a six-year, $650,000 agreement, which is was the largest public facility per-year naming rights agreement in Oregon History.
